Sharing Your Faith Will Change Your Life!
There’s nothing that rivals the joy that comes from leading people closer to Jesus, and it’s never been easier! With over 80% of the unchurched knowing the world is out of control . . . and hoping there’s a God who can make sense out of the chaos.
God mandated that you share your faith, almost everyone is searching for Him, the clock is ticking and there’s nothing more fun than knowing God is using you to move people closer to Him. And the worse it gets, the easier it will be as the cares of this world grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace!
Life is About Redemption
It’s incomprehensible that Almighty God, the Creator of everything, created us intending us to be His friends for Eternity. In fact, His Son Jesus came and died for us to make that possible. Greater love has no man than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends (John 15:11). And He doesn’t want anyone to miss out. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10).
God gives us our brief time on Earth to: Learn who He is, to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and to live our lives for His purpose . . . to seek and save the lost. Choose you this day who you will serve (Joshua 24:15). A hundred years from now, the only thing that will matter is whether or not you lived your life for His purpose (Romans 8:28).
Sharing Is Not Optional
When asked which commandment is the greatest, Jesus gave “Loving God” and “Loving Our Neighbors As Ourselves” equal status, explaining that when we uphold these two commandments, we’ll uphold all the commandments.
Why Sharing is Mandated
The weight of scripture makes it abundantly clear that the sharing of your faith is not an option. This begs the question, Why? Why does God view the sharing of your faith as the dominant task of your walk with Him?
Why Don’t Christians Share
Sharing your faith is not optional, it is mandated by God in the Great Commission. Though many Christians know they should share their faith, some still don’t . . . why is that? Pastor and Author, Greg Laurie, gives us some insight on sharing our faith with everyone we meet!
Church is Not Enough
While being a faithful church member, giving sacrificially of your time and resources, and knowing good teaching from bad, may earn you respect in your church, it’s not enough for God. God wants nothing less than to be your “First Love” and for you to return to doing the “First Work.”
God Directs Your Steps
While we often look at God’s promises as being separate and standing alone, they’re actually interrelated and interdependent on each other. God’s promise to make everything in your life work for good depends on living your life for His Purpose…the Redemption of Mankind.
You’re in Full-Time Ministry
Loving everyone around you as yourself, is being as concerned for their Salvation as you are your own . . . knowing everything you do and say moves everyone watching you closer or further away from God.
The Great Commission doesn’t send you into the world to pray, or read your Bible, or be a ‘good person.’ Before I placed you in your Mother’s womb, I set you apart to be my spokesman (Jeremiah 1:5). You are ‘God’s Spokesman,’ called to move everyone, every day, closer to Jesus!
Timing Is Everything
It’s been said that we should live practically, as if the Lord’s not returning for another 1,000 years and spiritually like He’s coming back today! It’s good advice. You never know what tomorrow holds. Even if we’re still here tomorrow and the next day, the unsaved around us today may not be. Quite unexpectedly, their time might be running out. You never know!
Your Biggest Motivator
There’s nothing more real or horrifying than Hell, and yet we seldom think about it or talk about it without being viewed as some kind of religious fanatic, even among Christians today. It’s like, if we ignore it, it will go away or not happen. But just like death and taxes, it will happen!
Eternal Life
All of us view bad news as a temporary situation. Whatever happens to us, life goes on and the sun will still rise tomorrow. Even pain that we can’t escape from will end when we die. At some point, there will be finality to our human condition. But we are immortal beings.
Jesus Is Our Model
Except for the self-righteous, everyone was drawn to Jesus during His time on earth, even the children. He was, at all times, approachable, engaging and loving. In fact, in John 13:35 He told us they will know that you’re My disciples by your love.
Rejoicing in Heaven
Putting things into perspective, we only reside on this earth for 100 years or so and then there’s Eternity…that never ends. So regardless of how important things on earth might seem to us at the moment, the entirety of our lives on Earth represents a minuscule amount of time in our total existence.
Faith Comes By Hearing
Christians want to believe that actions speak louder than words, because it gets them off the hook for sharing their faith. The problem is, it’s not scriptural and it doesn’t work. Being good doesn’t get you or anyone else into Heaven. The world is full of good people, doing good things, that have nothing to do with redemption.
Almost every Christian can quote the words of St. Francis of Assisi, “Preach the Gospel at all times and, when necessary, use words.” But St. Francis never said that or anything like that. Romans 10:14 asks: “How shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard,” followed by Romans 10:17, “So then Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God.” Bottom Line: Jesus didn’t say, “Go into the world and just be a good person.”
Sharing Gets People Saved
Most Christians believe they’re sharing their faith by simply being good people. But the world’s filled with good people, living good lives, who have no relationship with Jesus Christ. In fact, it’s not unusual to find unsaved people being more kind, generous and good than most church attenders.
Move Everyone
Less than 1% of Christians are actively sharing their faith every day! How are they going to know unless someone tells them? Unless you tell them! Like it or not, you’re a city set on a hill for all to see and watch, every when you don’t know they’re watching. you’re a full-time witness, either for the defense or the prosecution of the Gospel.
Faith Comes by Hearing
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1). And then the Word became Flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory (John 1:14). Everything changed when the Word (Jesus) became a man of flesh, blood, warmth and personality, transforming the letter of the Law into a relationship with our Creator.
The World is Desperate for What You Have
At this very moment, the world (including your neighbors), is paralyzed in fear and trembling, feeling overwhelmed and powerless to end the chaos that’s coming from all directions. They’re desperate for the ‘peace that passes all understanding’ that you have, and is only available to those who’ve accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Out of the thousands of years of human history and the 114 billion people who have lived on this earth, God chose you for this moment in time: To share His message of love and Salvation with those who are seeking Him! Now is the time to let your light shine, allowing people who want to know, to want what you have!
People Want to Know
There’s nowhere to run anymore — no place of safety. At any moment, any of us can be attacked on the street, in our schools, our theaters and even our churches. There’s no place to invest our fortune, if we have one, that’s beyond a possible meltdown. Regardless of whether you’re rich or poor, the world’s coming to believe that if there is a God, He’s our only refuge.

You automatically have an insatiable urge to do both, in preparation for your next encounter. And you’ll be amazed by the words that come out of your mouth during your encounters, as the Holy Spirit speaks through you.
Nothing ignites your faith faster than watching God direct people into your life and then speaking to them through you. Nothing in the entire human experience matches God’s confirmation that He’s using you for His purpose and giving you absolute faith!
