Well, Nick, great to have these few moments with you. I love your heart for talking to you before we turn the camera on. You have this great story. I particularly wanted to have you on to talk about this story, because it so explains all the way through the whole story. Is such an amazing story. So just share that where this

is, yeah. So when I turned 18, my dad, at the time, well, my dad had, had gotten me a job at U-Haul, and I started out washing trucks at the bottom of the barrel. Didn’t, didn’t really enjoy it, but it paid, you know, what little bills I had then. And so about two years into that, I, I really made my mind up that I really wanted to do my best there I had already, I only worked in detail for about four weeks, and got moved into the parts department. And through about 10 years, I made my way through the entire shop, became, became a mechanic. Wow, didn’t do any schooling, and our, our, our manager at the time retired, and the foreman that was there, it was funny. He almost came, like, became like a stepdad to me. He was, he was real intuitive, and would, would just help me out on a lot of things. And he was next in line to just step into that position. And he actually was interviewed and told them that they should hire me for that position. And so just blown away, a kid that came from no schooling, no background in any of this. And 10 years later, now I’m running two shops. Favor of God, right? 100% so, you know, I talked to him a lot, you know, through through this, you know, I would, I would try to pull stuff out of them and just, just share the love of Christ.
Barry Meguiar 01:49
One would think that he would be jealous of you.

Right, right. But there was absolutely none of it. And which, again, I feel like is the favor of God, like, even though, in his eyes right then and there, he didn’t want anything to do with Jesus. He told me the Bible has been touched by too many hands. It’s, it’s not something for me. And I would just say, okay, that’s, that’s cool. And I really felt when that transition happened into to being a manager, that I was just supposed to show, I wasn’t supposed to talk, I was just supposed to show. And about three years into being the manager there, I had some stuff happen, somebody saying I was still in money and some crazy stuff, but I was wrongfully terminated. And in that I told, I told them that they were, you know, they were, they were in the process of firing me, and I started to get angry, and then I just felt like God kind of pulled me back in the seat and said I was able to honestly say, with, with a with a heart of it’s okay, you know, you guys don’t have the last say in this, and, and this is happening because God’s allowing it. And my foreman actually ended up taking me home to drop me off and bring the company truck back and everything. And this man that you’ve been sharing. So and he was just telling me, like, this just isn’t right. This isn’t right. And I said, it’s gonna be all right, you know, because God’s got it all in control, so it doesn’t matter. Powerful. About six months later, after I got let go, my mom was a receptionist there, and she, she called me and said, you’ll never guess what happened today. And I said, what? And she told me that he came in and told her that he gave his life and heart to God. And it was so cool to be able to look back. And I actually didn’t even get this revelation till about two months ago, that 13 years was for that moment and it was just, it was, it was really, like, it was a powerful moment for me, because I was able, I was luckily, able, to see the end. You know, if my mom wasn’t there, I would never would have found out. Yeah, exactly, exactly. And it would have been okay though, because if, if all, if my 13 years there was to set a seed and let God work on it and let God pull on his heart, which, which, if I would have probably tried to force it down his throat it wouldn’t happen. That’s right, you can’t force feed, Christian. No. you cannot do it. So I’ve come to the realization that my 13 years there was for that moment, it’s totally good.
Barry Meguiar 04:15
There’s nothing compared to knowing that you, you played a role. I played a role. God used you to get somebody to spend eternity with him, right? Wow, yeah, that’s it. Isn’t that great? Thank you, Nick, that’s, that’s a, that’s a powerful story. Thank you. Very powerful story. God bless you. God bless you. Thank you.
