There’s a gospel song based on Psalm 7711 that says, I will remember, I will remember the works of the Lord. I will stop and give you praise for great is your faithfulness. How many times has God stepped into your life and worked a miracle? But for God, something bad would have happened. You would have gone down the wrong path, or done the wrong thing, or made a life changing decision in the wrong direction. Think about it. Every one of those events is a store that can impact the lives of others, even yours, as you bring it back into your memory bank, it’s so easy to ask for God’s help and then forget to thank him after the rescue. It’s the height of ungratefulness. You need to stop and remember and give Him praise for his faithfulness, for your own edification and for the edification of everyone. God prompts you to share your story with people were struggling now with what you were struggling with back then, and whose lives can be changed forever by your story of God’s faithfulness to you in your quiet times, stop and reflect on all of your life’s experience where God has been there for you. It’s important to take time remember every one of them. It might take weeks or months to remember them all, and what a wonderful journey of faith that becomes you’ll never be the same again after remembering all that God has done for you all of your life, and because these are your stories, no one can tell them but you, and how foolish to waste them on you, on your life alone, when they can impact multitudes of lives. People today, especially millennials, are looking for reality and authenticity. Your stories are powerful because they’re real and they have the power to change lives every time you use them to move people closer to Jesus, and the more you tell them, the more you remember them, and the more you praise God for them, and the more you move everyone every day closer to Jesus because of them, because of his faithfulness. The blessing is really twofold, as you remember all that God has done for you over the years and praise Him for it, and then by sharing your stories were those who desperate need to know there’s a God who loves them as much as he’s ever loved anyone, and he wants to bless them with peace and happiness and eternal life. This is staggering news for the lost. The mere thought that God loves them is beyond the comprehension of most unbelievers. They think God hates them, and then to know that God not only loves them, but wants a personal relationship with them, to be intimately involved with him during the good times or the bad as he has been with you. Take time to remember, stop and give Him praise for great is His faithfulness, and then watch how often opportunities open for sharing your stories, your testimony of his faithfulness in your life, has power far beyond your wildest dreams for eternity. They are, in fact, your most potent weapon for pushing back the darkness in other people’s lives.
