Today I just want to be able to share with you the great opportunity and the importance of every Christian being able to share their faith. Matthew tells us that we are the light of the world, a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. So if you can hide it, you don’t have it, and it’s something that lives in us every day, everywhere we go, and God wants to use us in that way. I want to share one story with you today that happened in Walmart. So we all shop, we all go around. I call that my ministry, my shopping ministry. And when I go in Walmart, when I get out of the truck, I’ve learned over the years to say, Lord, here’s my list. But what mission do you have me on today? I may walk in and I may have nothing, but there are times that there’s divine appointments and divine interruptions. I want to share one of those with you today. Those with you today, as I’m standing in line in Walmart, I will look for the longest line at times, because it’s become my mission field. And if I’m smiling, I’m already doing something that most people are not doing in Walmart, because I prayed before I went in. But as I’m standing in line and talking with people on the line, there just becomes something that happens in that line with everybody, but that checker that’s at that that cash register, she’s under pressure when people are in line, so I’m smiling and talking, and I’m usually buying product that has something to do with ministry. And as I’m going through the line, I step up to the checker, and she says to me, man, I’m sorry for the wait. No problem. As I’m talking with her, why are you buying all this stuff? I’m able to share with her, just about my church and what I’m doing, whether it’s junior high or some event I’m doing. And before I leave there, I say, listen, I’d love to invite you to come to church sometime. Well, this particular checker, her name was Andra, and I would look for Andra every time I went in Walmart for seven years, I looked for Andra. And so one day, I’m coming in the garden department, and Andra was at that that checkout register, and she came over to me and she said, would you pray with me? I don’t know how she knew I was a pastor. I have no idea, but I told her, yes, I’d pray. We prayed in the plants. I’ve prayed with people in the towel aisle. But as this went on with Andra about two years ago, I’m walking across my campus to walk over to the next building, and I’m in the crosswalk and there’s Andra. I’m like, Andra, what are you doing here? She said, I came to church. I want you to know Andra gave her heart to Christ. She started coming to church. To this day, Andra not only attends one of our campuses, but she’s involved in ministry. I show up in an outreach, and Andra’s there. Can you imagine if I had not smiled in the line, if I hadn’t allowed Jesus to be the light of the world. I didn’t have to get on the loud speaker and say, we’re having revival in aisle three. All I had to do was show the love of Christ. And I want to encourage you today to know that wherever you’re at, wherever you go, there are divine appointments and divine interruptions that God has called you to. You are the light of the world. He says that he knows the plans he has for us. Ephesians, 210 for you are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works that he already planned in advance for you to do. Don’t miss one of those divine appointments that God already has scheduled for you in your day.
