There’s a vast difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is circumstantial and takes you back and forth between happiness and unhappiness in a single day, depending on the news of that day. Joy is an entirely different animal, having nothing to do with circumstances and everything to do with your relationship with God. Failure to trust God accentuates bad news and robs you of your joy. But trusting God defeats worry and fills your life with joy.
