What Happened to America?

“If you’re not close to God, guess who moved,” and “Our chickens have come home to roost,” are two very old phrases that describe exactly where we are in America today. How did we get here?

God Doesn’t Move
God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  He is the one thing in the entire Universe that never moves . . . never changes.  Psalm 94:22 tells us, He is the Rock of our salvation, if we’re truly saved. For He is our strength, immutable, immovable, and impenetrable shelter and an everlasting foundation.

America Was Built on the Solid Ground of Faith
The signers of the Mayflower Compact, on November 11, 1620, signed their names as defenders of the faith . . . having undertaken for the Glory of God the advancement of the Christian faith.  Many of the signers of our Constitution were pastors and graduates of divinity schools.  At its signing on September 17, 1787, their belief that our ‘Republic’ would only survive as long as we remain a “virtuous and religious people” is well documented.

George Washington stated it best: “It is impossible to govern the world without God.  It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits and humbly implore His protection and favor.”

It seems our nation’s founders saw us more clearly than we see ourselves today.  Coming out of the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin was asked: Are we a Democracy or a Republic?  That’s when he gave his famous quote: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

And for 200 years we kept it and, with God’s blessings, became the most powerful, prosperous and generous nation in the world.  Most of the world’s life-changing inventions, medical breakthroughs, scientific discoveries, computer genius, and even musical compositions have come from America . . . and more than 80% of the funding for world missions.

When we moved into our U.S. Capitol building in November of 1800, one of the first acts of Congress was to approve the use of the Capitol as a church building. It was, in fact, Thomas Jefferson who penned the words, “separation of Church and State” in a personal letter.  Now this phrase is being used as the battle cry for those wanting to keep God and government separate.

But following that writing, Thomas Jefferson attended church in the U.S. Capitol building as Vice President and during the eight years, he served as President of the United States.  This completely destroys the argument that Jefferson was in favor of separating the influence of God’s word from public policy.  What he actually meant was that our government should not have power over our churches.

Guess Who Moved
In 1960, 70% of the U.S. population were regular church attenders, attending church services three or more times per month.  That number is now 20%.  When 50% of a population moves away from God to indulge in their own self-interests, there are consequences.

In 1963, Madalyn Murray O’Hair founded American Atheist and championed the legislation that banned both the Bible and prayer from our schools.  For the past 30 years, the entire topic of religion and the role it has played in America and world history has been intentionally removed from our textbooks.

This means that all Americans under the age of 35 (almost half of our population) have no knowledge of prayer, Biblical truths, God’s gift of eternal life or the role Christianity has played in world events . . .  in what used to be the most Christian nation on the planet.  Is it any wonder that those rightly disturbed by injustice have neither a frame of reference nor a standard of measure for what’s really taking place today?

In 1971, the well-funded and powerful Southern Poverty Law Center was founded, which is militantly Anti-Christian and Anti-Semitic. In 2003, the Ten Commandments were removed from the rotunda of the Justice Department and in 2005, the Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s ruling to remove the Ten Commandments from courthouses.  These are only a few of the hundreds of edicts and rulings over the last 50 years that have removed God from our public discourse.

The Chickens Have Come Home to Roost
America has not had a sudden transformation!  We don’t have a country full of God-honoring people who have suddenly decided to rebel against God.  We are in the final stages of the deep-rooted, intentional and systematic transformation of America into a Godless society, by forces far larger than we could imagine . . . forces that are using a virus and race relations as their cover to incite anarchy in America.

Fifty years of pastors refusing to address political issues with Biblical truth, and Christians going silent with their faith, have combined with the removal of God from our classrooms and textbooks to create the loss of respect for our God and our Country.

In the face of all facts to the contrary, the current view held by a younger generation of Americans is that our nation was built on slavery and racism and deserves to be destroyed . . . thus the intense and renewed interest in Socialism – a bankrupt theory that represents the opposite of America’s reality!  Marx and Engle’s infamous statement that ‘Democracy may well pave the road to Socialism’ might not be as outrageous as we thought!

What Happened to America?
It’s critical to understand that at its core, the Constitution is based on the values and beliefs of Christianity, where personal worth and dignity are esteemed, simply because God is our creator and we are made in His image. The blueprint driving Socialism is an atheistic philosophy claiming God is dead and religious faith is a myth.

Protests are part of the American fabric.  But make no mistake, the violent rioting gripping America today is being orchestrated by those who are not just trying to destroy a President, but to destroy our constitutional system of government.

Behind the scenes, there are godless, well-funded power brokers (globalists) who want to usher in a ‘New World Order’ with a ‘One World Religion’ and a ‘One World Government.’  A Google search quickly identifies who they are.

You cannot separate the lawlessness of what we’re witnessing on TV from the well-orchestrated (over 50 years) repudiation of God by our society.  Rioting is what people do when they have no concept of God’s love for them, the truth of His word or His gift of eternal life . . . or how God divinely directed our founders to create America to be One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

The End Game
None of this comes as a surprise to God! In fact, most of what we’re witnessing was prophesied and archived in the scriptures thousands of years ago. Again, a Google search of the Anti-Christ will quickly bring the Socialist dream of a ‘One World Government’ into perspective. No man knows the day or the hour of the Rapture, but we will know the signs of the times. And those signs are flashing red lights at this point.

What Now
It’s been wisely said: Live practically like the Lord isn’t returning for a thousand years . . . and live spiritually like He’s returning today.  There’s nothing that prevents the Rapture from happening today.  For sure, it will occur before the Anti-Christ steps on the scene, and with every country in the world in turmoil and losing trust in their leaders, there’s never been a more opportune time for Him to enter center-stage.

Left Behind
This is the one thing we don’t want our friends and loved ones to experience.  Being left behind, after the Rapture of the Church, means facing the world of the Anti-Christ who will usher in the horrors of tribulation with the penalty of death if you refuse to recognize him as God.

Marching Orders
If there was ever a sense of urgency to bring every friend and loved one into the Kingdom of God, it is now.  There is nothing in your life of greater importance.  While you’re not responsible for anyone to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord, God is holding you responsible for giving everyone you know that opportunity.
