Buying College
The collapse of American morality has breached the halls of academia . . . where the pursuit of truth is our highest goal. People, of means and influence, are buying their kids into colleges and universities while keeping those with higher merits out – blocking the path for the more deserving while corrupting the system and their own children. A tragic commentary on today’s America.
Training Tomorrow’s Leaders
Colleges and universities are where a culture goes in pursuit of academic achievement and intellectual attainment. Another way to say it is that scholarship is the attainment of intellectual truth. The halls of academia are where the leaders of tomorrow form their belief systems.
Recognizing God as Our Source
The original motto for Harvard University, the oldest institution of higher education in America, was, ‘For Christ and Church’. At the very beginning of academia in America, we understood that God is our source for academic excellence and morality and academia’s teaching of these unchanging truths made America the most prosperous and generous nation in the world.
Changing Course
Then, Harvard changed its motto to simply, ‘Truth,’ which leaves the determination of truth to whatever standard you wish to apply. This was the turning point! Our academic institutions have turned America away from the belief system of those who crafted our Constitution, and now our entire culture absolves everyone from the “bondage” of moral absolutes!
The New “Morality”
In the absence of moral absolutes, personal goals and aspirations take precedent over everyone else’s. What’s good for me and my family is more important than what’s good for you and yours. This leads to a new “morality” that allows parents to do whatever is necessary to get their kids into college and actually feeling good about it.
The New “Truth”
Now the “truth” is that you can get into the school of your choice by cheating the system and this truth is being taught to our youth just as they’re forming the values that will direct the rest of their lives. In fact, the most tragic victims of this scandal are the students who have benefited by the dishonesty of their parents.
The Chickens Have Come Home to Roost
The headlines shout our nation’s shame! Higher education is suffering the results of the godless theology they’ve embedded into the minds of their students. Those students, who have graduated and prospered with their godless mindset, now have the means and guilt-free immorality to buy their kids way into college, and why not? This is where they were taught situational ethics. The chickens have come home to roost and everyone was happy . . . until they got caught!
We’ve Become What Our Founders Feared
From Washington, to Hamilton, to Adams, to Lincoln, those responsible for creating America understood and proclaimed that our republic will only last as long as we remain a “religious and virtuous people”. With divine inspiration, they saw us better than we see ourselves today. We’ve become what they most feared would happen . . . and this scandal is only a symptom.
Turning Our Back on Moral Absolutes
We now live in an America that allows bright, intelligent people of great means and influence to believe they can cheat the system with impunity, if not self-righteousness. And while there are a multiplicity of explanations for how we got here, all of them are the direct result of America turning its back on the moral absolutes of God’s Holy Word.

I 100 percent agree with you we as Christians have sat back and watched it happen. Our pastors worry more about head count than the message and teaching. I’ve got a 20 year old son in college and it’s unbelievable of what they try and teach him and it’s a small college. He comes home every day with another story. I now know way the push so much that you have to take so much history because that’s where and how they start the process. As for buying your kids way we fight it every day as we’re trying to get him to Nascar he has a God given talent that everyone in the industry agrees with but we are told he’ll never make it because all the rides are bought and paid for and we’ve definitely experienced that. It’s not about talent anymore but who can write the check. We’re not giving up because he knows God is behind him and can use him to reach the youth. God says the tongue is the most powerful weapon we have and it’s being used against us and we’re letting it happen because we’re being pushed out of all the places where we could speak for God like Nascar Football all sports and public offices because there being bought without moral standards.
