What percentage of Americans suffer from anxiety?

This makes America the most blessed and stressed country in the world. No other country has our level of freedom and prosperity AND our level of stress at the same time! More than 65 million people in the U.S., including 30% of our children between the ages of 3-17, suffer from…

More than 20% (1 in 5) of all Americans suffer from diagnosable anxiety disorders.

This IgniteAmerica Certified Statistic is based on the following research:

Percentage of American adults with diagnosable anxiety disorders:

20%    APA Stress in America Survey, 2018

23%    General Social Survey, 2018

19%    National Comorbidity Study 2007, Harvard University

21%    Average

Percentage of Generation Z (ages 13-17) with diagnosable anxiety disorders:

29%    Teens/Anxiety & Depression, Pew Research Center, 2018

27%    APA Stress in America Survey, 2018

25%    National Comorbidity Study 2007, Harvard University

27%    Average

Cultural Context:

More than 65 million people in the United States, including 30% of our children between the ages of 3-17, suffer from anxiety. With all of our success, opportunities, and technologies, 40% of our teenagers feel bored almost every day, and 70% say anxiety and depression are their biggest problems – with less than 20% ever getting help.

Stress takes its toll! After 60 years of increasing life expectancy, life expectancy in the United States has been in decline for the last three years. This is in spite of America spending more on healthcare than any other country in the world. Leading factors are drug abuse (prescribed and illegal) and suicide, which is now the second-leading cause of death for those between the ages of 10 – 34. These are the casualties of a godless, stress-filled society.

This amazing country, that was birthed by God and blessed by God to bless the world, has lost its soul. For almost 200 years, we knew we were ‘One Nation, Under God,’ enjoying and giving thanks to Him for His blessings. Anxiety was the least of our problems.

But we’re now taking credit for God’s blessings, removing Him from our textbooks, and aggressively legislating His truth, love, and joy out of our culture. This leaves us with the stress of having to figure it out on our own. And that job is too big for all of us in today’s world!

For Christians, life is still a challenge, even knowing God goes before us. Facing it on your own, without God, is intolerable! And that’s the real reason our country is stressing out!

Scriptures:

Worrying Is Overrated!
Who of you by worrying, can add a single hour to your life.
Luke 12:25

If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31

This World Is Not Our Home
. . . the sufferings of this present world are not worthy to be compared with the Glory that shall be revealed to us (in Heaven).
Romans 8:18

You Can Do This!
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil for you are with me.
Psalms 23:4

Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He’s done. Then you will experience God’s Peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
Philippians 4:6-7

God Uses Trials to Build Your Faith
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold . . . so when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
I Peter 1:7

God Has You Right Where He Wants You
I know I have plans for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

Be Still And Know That He Is God
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise . . . then the God of Peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:8-9

Living For God’s Purpose (To Seek and Save the Lost) Is The End of Worry
And we know that all things work for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His Purpose.
Romans 8:28

How much has weekly church attendance declined?

This is the most shocking, game-changing statistic we’ve ever reported! To put it in perspective, 30% of our population never goes to church. This is up from 25% just five years ago! And almost 30% of our population are “Chreasters”…

There has been a shocking 20% decline in weekly church attenders in the last 4 years, up from a 6% decline in the previous 4 years, and only a 2% decline in the previous 20 years.

This IgniteAmerica Certified Statistic is based on the following research:

Percentage of Americans who attend church weekly:

2014 2018 % Change
Gallup Religion Polls 29 22 -24%
General Social Surveys 26 23 -11%
Pew Research Center 33 24 -27%
2010 2014 % Change
Gallup Religion Polls 30 29 -3.3%
General Social Surveys 27 26 -3.7%
Pew Research Center 37 33 -10.7%

Cultural Context:

This is the most shocking, game-changing statistic we’ve ever reported!
To put it in perspective, 30% of our population never goes to church. This is up from 25% just 5 years ago! And almost 30% of our population are “Chreasters,” who primarily go to church at Christmas and Easter.

This means that almost 60% of our population is living outside the influence of the Church . . . and can only be reached through media or through personal faith-sharing experiences by the faithful. That’s why it’s called the Great Commission and it’s given to all of us!

As in most social dynamics, 80% of the work and support of the Church is performed by 20% of the people—those who are the most faithful with their church attendance, time, resources and financial support. The worst possible news for the Church is that our most faithful weekly church attenders are declining in explosively increasing numbers, with no sign of slowing down.

We want to believe that our world is becoming increasingly Christian, but the numbers prove the opposite. While millions of people are coming to Christ around the world, the global growth rate of Christianity is less than the growth rate of the world’s population . . . not counting the millions who are leaving the Church. Islam is now the fastest-growing religion in the world.

In America from 1990 to 2010, the decline in weekly church attenders was less than 1% per decade. And then, from 2010 to 2014, weekly church attenders declined 6% in just four years! And now, in the last four years, weekly church attenders have decreased by 20%. This means the bedrock of the American Church, which funds the majority of global evangelism, is disappearing!

The numbers speak for themselves. Post-Christian America is rapidly becoming as faithless and godless as our European counterparts . . . with funding for world evangelism in jeopardy. Might this be setting the stage for the one-world government prophesied in the Book of Revelation?

With almost every country in the world losing respect for its leaders, the world is primed for a ‘Global Leader’ who can bring real change. Imagine the global response to a charismatic personality who supernaturally ends global terrorism, poverty, and financial fluctuations with a one-world monetary system.

But there’s a catch! The global monetary system will only be available to those who accept this charismatic leader, the Anti-Christ, as God. That can only happen in a world that’s lost its faith. And for the first time in human history, we are at that point . . . even in America. That’s what makes this statistic so chilling!

Post-Script:
None of us knows the day or the hour, and none of us can change the trajectory of world events. But, every day, God gives you the mandate to move everyone in your world closer to Jesus. And when you do that, when we all do that, we’ll ignite America with Revival. It’s America’s only hope!

As a Christian, the only thing that will matter 100 years from now is how many people will be in Heaven, because of you. Your task is to get as many people into Heaven as possible before it’s too late!

When you do that, you’ll be living your life for God’s purpose (to seek and save the lost) and enjoying God’s promise to make everything in your life, for the rest of your life, work for good!

The resounding message from this statistic is that if you want to spend eternity in Heaven with your unsaved friends and loved ones, you’re running out of time to make that happen.

Scriptures:

Except for Christians, The Entire World is Being Deceived
We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
I John 5:19

. . . scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.
II Peter 3:3

We’ve gone from 30% to 80% of Our Population Being Unbelievers
(This scripture explains why our world is going crazy)
Satan, who is the God of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News.
II Corinthians 4:4

Those Without God Have No Understanding
Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.
Daniel 12:10

They See Good as Evil and Evil as Good
Woe to them who call evil good and good evil.
Isaiah 5:20

This is What a Post-Christian Society Looks Like
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power.
II Timothy 3:1-5

It Was Prophesied That Christians Would Grow Cold
But the Spirit explicitly says that in the later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons . . . whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
I Timothy 4:1-3

Loving Hearts Are Growing Cold
Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.
Matthew 24:12

The Road Less Traveled
You can enter God’s Kingdom through the narrow gate. The highway to Hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14

Most Unbelievers Are Primed to Hear the Good News!
And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity . . . people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world.
Luke 21:25

The Flood Came After Man’s Preoccupation with Evil
God saw the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:5

In the Days of Noah, the Earth Was Filled With Violence
. . . the earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Genesis 6:11

As It Was in the Days of Noah, So Shall It Be When the Lord Returns
When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his ark. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.
Matthew 24:37

Encourage the Faithful!
. . . let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together as is the habit of some but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:24-25

He’s Coming for The Faithful!
For the Lord Himself will come down from Heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air… Then we will be with the Lord forever.
I Thessalonians 4:15

Faithful vs Unfaithful
A faithful, sensible servant is one whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. If the master returns and finds the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward . . . But what if the servant is evil and thinks “My master won’t be back for a while,” and he begins beating the other servants, partying and getting drunk? The master will return unannounced and unexpected . . . and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 24:45-50

God’s Call to The Faithful
Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming . . . therefore, you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Matthew 24:42-44

The Faithful Honor God with Every Thought, Word and Action
I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.
Matthew 12:36

Don’t Be Lulled to Sleep!
For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying “There is peace and security” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
I Thessalonians 5:2-3

Faithful to The End
Sin will be rampant everywhere and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:12

God’s Greeting to The Faithful
Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate!
Matthew 25:3

God Rewards the Faithful
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.
I Corinthians 2:9

The ‘Anti-Christ’ Is About To Appear & Declare He Is God
Now dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some things about the coming of the Lord . . . that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed – the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God . . . he can be revealed only when his time comes. For this lawlessness is already at work, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed.
II Thessalonians 2:1-8

One-World Monetary System for Those Who Declare Anti-Christ God
Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name . . . and his number is 666.
Revelation 13:16-18

Jesus Stops Man from Destroying Himself
If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive . . .
Matthew 24:22

The Most Watched Event in Television History
As the lightening comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in Heaven and then all the tribes of the earth will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:27-30

Our God Reigns!
And the Lord will be King over all the earth. On that day, there will be One Lord – His Name alone will be worshipped.

Of the 37% of U.S. adults that claim they have had a born-again experience, only half hold core Evangelical beliefs or attend church regularly. There’s a wide gap between what people say they believe, what they really believe, and how they live their lives.

This is the “Lukewarm Church” that God says He’ll spew out of His mouth! Here’s why: Those who are cold bring condemnation on themselves, but those who are lukewarm bring condemnation on the Church. Instead of living lives that draw people to God, they live lives that push people away. Most Americans hold a negative view of Christianity because of “Christians” who are Biblically illiterate and misrepresent God with their words, actions, and attitudes.

The call to love God with your whole heart, mind, and soul is the true foundation of being born-again, and it’s in our nature to spend time with those we love! That’s why one of the strongest indicators of a born-again experience is faithful church attendance, spending time where God is. And when we truly love God, we tell people about Him at every opportunity.

Scriptures:

I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2 Timothy 3:5

It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.

In the past, church attenders went to church Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night, with regular calls for repentance and altar calls. Now it’s a brief ‘once a week’ obligation before lunch and a ballgame on Sundays, with no calls for salvation or altar calls. As a result, almost half of all regular church attenders believe themselves to be Christian, simply because they go to church, sing the songs and give their money.

Scriptures:

Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:9-10

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
John 14:6

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12

God saved you by His Grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this, it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for good things we have done (like going to church), so none of us can boast about it.
Ephesians 2:8-9

The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is believing in your heart that you are made right with God and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Romans 10:9-10

There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee. After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. “Rabbi,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you.” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again,[a] you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So, don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’
John 3:1-7

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.
