Barry Meguiar 00:03
Well, Jennifer, it’s always good to be with you. Fun to be with you whenever we’re together. I mean, it’s like you’re not a newbie. I mean, you’ve been sharing your faith for a long time.
Speaker 1 00:15
I was just thinking about the story just today, and there’s so many stories to share, but just recently, I had an opportunity to go to the hospital, and that’s where and I got to pray with pretty rough, rough older man, not too much older than my own father, but he was a retired policeman, and I worked for I worked for the state at this time, and he was a security he was security for this place that I worked. And I would just say hey and, and got to know him just a little bit, and just always thanking him for keeping us safe, and like opening that those doors. And he was, you know, and I was just like, you know, you’re a lot kinder than what you come off to be, you know. I just spoke that in him and, and he always went beyond his, the call of duty. I mean, he would just, and I noticed that, and I just had this connection, realizing that just through conversation and sharing the love of Christ. And then he found out that, you know, I’m a Christian, so I’d try not to say, you know, all the words that you’re, you know, they felt like, and I was just like, you just be you. But anyway, we had this interesting relationship about all the places we traveled in the world. And so he would show me, and I would show him the places, and he can’t believe the places that I go to, and he goes if you were my daughter, I don’t know how I could ever send you to those places. And and so those gave some really great opportunities, and him and his wife, and we just got to know each other well. He had this really odd sickness. And unfortunately, the hospital did not do the procedure that they that they had planned to do. It went off and wrong and and he came, he felt, he felt very ill. And this was not very long ago. They, you know, they did not have anyone else to, call to come pray, so they called me, and so I was the Christian in his life. I was that person. I just dropped everything and I went there. And because we had all those sweet conversations, those holy listening conversations, those your valued conversations that I got to pray with him, and soon after that, he he passed. I’m just saying sometimes we make it so difficult, but you know, God is so in control and working in the details of people’s lives that he’s just waiting for us to connect with how he’s working, and he is the one that sets us up. And how incredible is that, that my footsteps are ordered by him to connect with his plan and purpose for another person’s life, that their footsteps become aligned with where he has them to go. It’s just, how do you live for anything else? This is what I live for. And it’s so simple
Barry Meguiar 03:09
And simple, and so we make it so hard and we’re afraid of that.
Speaker 1 03:12
His name is Gary. I genuinely love Gary. I was like, he is so incredibly smart, and there’s just a lot of different things about him. But, you know, I began to see the image of God in him even before he accepted Jesus. I was just like man, God, you really created him for something. You created him in your image for something I can know about you by getting to know him. And if we want to how do we know God without knowing each other? And we are not meant to live isolated. It doesn’t matter what type of personality type we are, introvert, extrovert. We’re not meant to be isolated. We are meant to connect with others, to learn of God, and for God’s love to flow through as and as that happens, his love just grows in me. Yeah.
Barry Meguiar 04:04
You said it, yeah, that’s it. That’s it. No higher calling. With time running out I know we talked about rhis off camera but the time is precious. Absolutely. The clock is ticking.
Speaker 1 04:17
Absolutely, it’s not always comfortable to think about hell, think about destination. But man, if you have a situation that you think this is how I look at it, if they were my son and daughter, if that person I met was my own son and daughter, what would I not? What would I do? What would I want someone else to do? So if you can look at everybody as like if they were my son and daughter, what would as a parent I would want someone else to do? We get that opportunity every day but that’s how valuable those people are, as if they are created to be a son and daughter of the Lord.
Barry Meguiar 04:51
Again, back to statistic. 80, over 80% of the unchurched know the world’s out of control. Yeah, they know the world’s out of control. Would like to believe there’s a God who can make sense of the chaos. Are looking for somebody to tell them and already have, and already have a Christian in their life that they trust. That’s over 80% of the unchurched. We could evangelize America in 30 days. We could do that.
Speaker 1 05:19
If that one Christian, if being. Yeah, would we be the one Christian?
Barry Meguiar 05:24
Right now, it’s only 1% of us, and the whole point of Ignite is, let’s, let’s get ignited. Let’s get this job done. We need to change. And you say that, nobody says that better to you. It’s great hanging out with you.
05:33
Yeah. Thanks very, yeah. Bless you.
